New Hire Support Program
The philosophy behind our New Hire Support Program for Nursing is to improve retention by promoting clinical competency and easing the anxieties often associated with transition into a new work environment.
Our goal is to provide new hires, including new graduates, with a support program that supplements the clinical orientation program, addresses clinical learning needs, and provides clinical and professional mentoring, intensive feedback and social activities. The program continues throughout the first 15 months of employment for new graduate nurses, and the first 9 to 12 months for experienced nurses. Duration of participation is tailored to the individual needs of each new hire.
A New Hire Support Coordinator oversees your progress and provides intensive monitoring of your success in adapting to all aspects of the work environment, with rapid intervention to address any problems that arise. Our New Hire Support Coordinators track all new hires for two years.
Participants in the New Hire Support Program include the New Hire Support Coordinator, the new hire, the new hire's preceptor, the Education Coordinator and the Patient Care Director. These participants take part in various activities to support our new hires in their transition to the new work environment. We want you to thrive here.
